SURINAME envelop 1912 S.S. Marowijne naar Soest, Duitsland en doorgestuurd naar Rotterdam met ovaal stempel "Royal Dutch West India Mail / posted in the high seas / S.S. Marowijne". De SS Marowijne was een speciaal koelschip voor bananenvervoer, maar omdat de bananencultuur in Suriname getroffen werd door de Panama ziekte ging deze cultuur te gronde. Brief is links verkort.

SURINAME envelope 1912 S.S. Marowijne to Soest Germany and forwarded Rotterdam with oval cancel "Royal Dutch West India Mail / posted in the high seas / S.S. Marowijne". The S.S. Marowijne was developed for banana transport but when a desease ruined the banana cultivation the ship was sold to the Tropical Fruit Cy.
